Dr. Crutchfield and Crutchfield Dermatology Selected as 2007 "Top Doctor" by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine
Every 12-18 months Minneapolis-St. Paul magazine surveys 5,000 Twin City physicians and nurses and asks them if they, (or a family member) had a skin problem, what dermatologist would they see? The results are collected and the top 10-15% of the dermatologists named are awarded the title of "Top Doctor". We are very happy to announce that Dr. Crutchfield was selected by his peers as a "Top Dermatologist" for 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2006 issues, and now for 2007. Dr. Crutchfield readily admits it is a true team effort and says it really should be "Top Dermatology Office".

Atopic Dermatitis Success Story
- Approximately one out of ten infants in the United States will experience some degree of Atopic dermatitis/ Atopic eczema.
- Atopic dermatitis effects about three-fifths of children with one affected parent, and four-fifths of children with two affected parents.

Special Skin Microscope
As a general rule of thumb, Dr. Crutchfield recommends that everyone have a baseline comprehensive skin examination at some point in their life. Based on the examination, your dermatologist will recommend how often you should have additional exams in the future. The most important thing is to get a prompt evaluation if you have a mole changing in any way (size, color, or shape) or any spot on your skin that bleeds and does not heal in three weeks (without provocation). Also, any person who has had a melanoma should make sure that all of their first-degree relatives have a baseline skin examination. At Crutchfield Dermatology we are pioneers in the use of the revolutionary dermatoscope in the evaluation of suspicious moles. This allows Dr. Crutchfield to better see the inner structure of the mole, often times eliminating the need for an uncomfortable biopsy. |
