Knitting has also started to make its way into male-dominated sports, particularly baseball. On July 28, 2005, the Seattle Mariners hosted "Stitch 'N Pitch Night" at Safeco Field. More than 1,600 baseball fans, both men and women, brought their knitting needles and balls of yarn to the game.
