Ever wonder why flamingos are pink?
Pink

Flamingos feed on algae and crustaceans such as shrimp that contain the red pigment carotenoid. It is this pigment that gives the flamingos’ feathers their pink color. When flamingos in captivity are deprived of the carotenoidpigment, the pink color disappears, leaving a white bird.
