The four main germ transmission points are handling pets, coughing, sneezing and visiting the toilet. A study conducted by the University of Arizona revealed that the average American office cubicle is the most germ infested area most people are likely to visit on a given day.
On average, 21,000 germs per square inch are just in your desk- 400 times more than on a misperceived office toilet seat. Telephones have as many as 25,000 microbes per square inch, keyboards more than 3,000, and computer mice over 1,500. Toliet seat: about 50.
A toilet handle, however, can have as many as 80,000 bacteria per square inch.
