Botox Horror Story & Testimonial

“I came to Dr.Crutchfield after a disastrous botox treatment by a plastic surgeons office. I was fearful of ever having anyone touch my face again, but he immediately gained my trust. He is extremely skilled, confident, and cares deeply about his patients. He recommended an approach, asked me questions, listened intensely, and the results from PRP injections and facials have been amazing. My deep facial lines have softened, my skin is healthier than it has ever been for years!”

While many physicians agree that maintaining a strong code of ethics is key in the practice of aesthetic medicine, determining how to achieve that can be a great challenge. Moreover, establishing the extent of a physician’s responsibility regarding the broader upkeep of ethical standards in aesthetic medicine can be a slippery slope. Obviously, there is only so much a physician can control, but the widespread abuses of cosmetic procedures in the US may demand that physicians do more than take stock of their own ethical codes. Ahead, Charles E. Crutchfield III, MD and Neil Shah, MD answer questions on the major ethical issues facing aesthetic clinicians today and how to take action.
How important is a strong ethical center in the practice of aesthetic medicine, and how does it differ in the cosmetic world from the strictly medical world? Continue reading Ethics in Cosmetic Dermatology

Dr. Crutchfield talks about having fuller, natural, more beautiful lips

What are the current treatments for lip injections?

We do two things. We do a minimally invasive procedure called Perk(tm) for the lips. This is an in-office treatment, similar to a peel, but it lightly plumps and locks in moisture to reveal a well-shaped, pouty lip. It’s a treatment that smooths and plumps lips naturally using several ingredients: peony extract, aloe extract, peppermint oil, hydrating SPF lip balm that includes bees wax, vitamin E and extra virgin olive oil.

The lip plumping effect works immediately and each patient is provided with an at-home treatment serum that maintains the lip fullness for several weeks up to one month.

Double Chin Is Gone!

I am extremely pleased with the results of my Kybella treatments for double chin. Looks very natural, not like I’ve had plastic surgery, which is what I’d hoped for. The staff at the clinic were all very friendly and professional and I loved working with Dr. Crutchfield. He is a fantastic doctor!

Alopecia Hair Loss Treatment

Hair Loss Treatment

Dermatologist Charles E. Crutchfield III M.D. Announces Platelet Rich Plasma to Treat Hair Loss (Alopecia)

Dr. Charles Crutchfield III, a leading Twin Cities Dermatologist, offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for hair loss or thinning hair.

There is new evidence showing the effectiveness of PRP Therapy as a non-surgical medical procedure to treat hair loss and thinning hair.  Charles E. Crutchfield III M.D. has seen significant results in patients seeking treatment for hair loss (Alopecia).

Using the patient’s own blood, we create a concentration of Platelet Rich Plasma to promote hair growth and rejuvenation.   Charles E. Crutchfield III M.D. explains the treatment and its benefits:  “PRP therapy uses the patient’s blood to create the ideal formula of Platelet Rich Plasma.  We start by drawing a blood sample and spinning the blood to separate its components:  red blood cells, plasma, and platelet rich plasma.  Injecting the enriched platelet rich plasma into the treatment area stimulates the inactive hair follicles into an active growth phase.”

Dr. Crutchfield has years of experience treating hair loss (alopecia) with success.  He is excited about new developments that have made platelet rich plasma therapy a viable option in treating Alopecia.

“When we inject PRP into the area of hair loss, it causes a mild irritation that triggers your body to heal, explains Dr. Crutchfield.  “When the platelets are in the clot, enzymes are released that begin a tissue response to attract stem cells to heal and repair the damaged area.  The results are an amplification of the body’s regularly occurring wound healing system.”

Dr. Crutchfield has seen a significant increase in the number of patients inquiring about this therapy.  Estimates are that nearly 100 million Americans suffer from hair loss.  PRP for Hair Loss Therapy is a breakthrough treatment option because it is a safe, reliable treatment that is short and non-surgical.  The recovery period is fast, and the results look natural.
