Wow! 5 New State Fair Foods You Gotta Try

Chessy Corn on the Cob

Texas Steak Out’s Cheesey Nacho Corn on the Cob

Roasted corn on the cob lightly coated in mayo, crushed Doritos and nacho cheese. This one might sound kind of gross. I too had my doubts. But as long as you like corn, doritos and nacho cheese you will LOVE this. Eat it with caution, though. It’s very messy!

Duck wontons

Giggles Campfire Grill’s Duck Bacon Wontons

Duck bacon, grilled sweet corn and cream cheese combined inside deep-fried crescent-shaped wontons and served with dipping sauce. A lot of the “foodies” were excited about this one and it did not disappoint! The flavors were incredible and it’s an easy one to share.

Italian Bomba Sandwich

Mancini’s Italian Bomba Sandwich

Beer-braised pork shoulder with prosciutto cotto ham, fontina cheese, giardiniera (Italian relish) and aioli on a grilled ciabatta roll. This one wasn’t on my personal list of new foods to try, but I’m so glad I did. It was bursting with flavor and a nice portion.

Maple Cream Coffee

Farmer’s Union Coffee Shop Maple Cream Nitro Cold-Press Coffee

Locally sourced heavy cream and maple syrup in a cold brew coffee infused with nitrogen. This is so creamy and delicious, I can’t wait to go back and get more. So far the line at the Farmer’s Union Coffee Shop has been quite long, so I’d be prepared to wait.

Egg roll on a stick

Que Viet’s Egg Roll on a Stick

So this is technically a new food for the fair only because it is a new stand ;P This restaurant has my favorite egg rolls of all time, so when I heard they were coming to the fair I was ecstatic. The egg rolls are flavorful, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, plus they are gigantic! I’ve made everyone try these and so far it’s all love!
