The 60 minute film will be followed by a question and answer session featuring Mr. Finkelstein, the film-maker and psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis sufferer, and Charles E. Crutchfield III, MD, a board certified dermatologist. To view a four minute trailer of the film please visit: www.CrutchfieldDermatology.com/PsoriasisFilmPreview. The event is sponsored exclusively by Crutchfield Dermatology.
Psoriasis is a troubling skin condition that affects more than 15 million people in the United States. The manifestations of psoriasis include red, peeling, itching and burning skin that primarily affects the knees, elbows and scalp, but can occur anywhere on the body. In addition to skin involvement, recent research provides links between psoriasis and certain forms of arthritis and even heart disease.
“This film skillfully portrays what it is like to have psoriasis by following and interviewing a select group of people with psoriasis. It provides an insight into the disease that has never been communicated to this degree on the big screen,” comments Dr. Crutchfield. “The film is magnificently enlightening, touchingly sorrowful and truly heartwarming, all in one. Finkelstein has come up with a true medical documentary masterpiece that is an essential, ‘don’t miss’ viewing for anyone who has a loved one or friend with psoriasis and who really wants to know what it is like to live with psoriasis on a daily basis.”
Charles E. Crutchfield III, MD is medical director of Crutchfield Dermatology and Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. In addition to being selected as one of the ‘Best Doctors in America,’ Dr. Crutchfield recently received a ‘Healthcare Hero Award’ from Medica and Twin Cities Business magazine for his outstanding contributions to Healthcare for all Minnesotans. Crutchfield Dermatology is a Psoriasis Care Center of Excellence and is sponsoring the event purely for the enlightenment and education of all persons living in the Twin Cites affected by psoriasis. Seating is limited so reserve your seats early. Light refreshments will be served. For more information please visit CrutchfieldDermatology.com.
Psoriasis Patient Testimonial
Dear Dr Charles E Crutchfield III:
Thank you for presenting Fred Finkelstein and his film “My Skin’s on Fire” to Minnesota on Saturday October 06th. I heard many people say that they had learned so much form your program. As usual, you gave most generously of your time and information during the question and answer period. Our people are hungry for accurate information and help.
It is because of your help and co-operation that our Minnesota Psoriasis Support Group has flourished. We do have one of the largest groups in the country. We are very grateful for all that you have done from the very beginning of our meetings. You have helped to educate and inform us about the many successful ways of treating psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
I especially appreciated the help of Kerry from your staff to get a mailing out. She is a most delightful and helpful young woman.
We look forward to working with you in the future,
Gertrude Coad, Leader
Minnesota Psoriasis Support Group
