1st Wi-Fi “Hot Spot” in MN

Crutchfield Dermatology of Eagan, Minnesota became the first dermatology clinic in U.S. to offer a WiFi internet “Hot Spot” connection space for patients in its reception area on March 8, 2005.

“To the best of our knowledge, we are the first dermatology office in the country, and one of the very first medical clinics to offer such a free service to our patients. Often times patients are accompanied by spouses, siblings, children, friends, etc. We try to make the reception area as pleasant as possible for them. We have fresh flowers delivered regularly and prominently displayed. We currently have a flat screen television with cable programming, and the greatest collection of children’s books and vanguard current magazines available anywhere (Oprah, Scientific American, Wall Street Journal, Consumer Reports, National Geographic, Martha, Real Simple, etc, just to name a few) so this was a natural evolution in the high quality environment we desire to provide for our patients. Based on our survey responses in the past, as soon as the word gets out, it will be very popular, both for patients, (if we happen to be running a few minutes behind), or for any guests who are waiting for them” say Charles E. Dr. Crutchfield is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Crutchfield is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
