Famous Picasso Painting Damaged at Sale

In October 2006, Pablo Picasso’s 1932 painting Le reve hit the headlines when its owner, Las Vegas casino owner Steven Wynn, agreed to sell it to billionaire Steven A. Cohen in a private transaction for $139 million.  While showing it to a group of friends, Mr. Wynn made a sweeping gesture and accidentally poked his elbow through the canvas, resulting in a 6-in (15-cm) tear- and the cancellation of the sale.
