Jimmie Crutchfield essay-writing contest – Win $1000 Scholarship

Administered by the non-profit “Society for American Baseball Research” (SABR)The Negro Leagues Committee (NLC) of the society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is pleased to announce their essay‐writing contest for high school seniors. Each year the NLC hosts a Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference. Some initiatives of the conference include: donations of books to local schools and/or libraries, raising funds for headstones of unmarked graves, and the awarding of scholarships.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Current high school senior.

Anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application.

Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post‐secondary institution.

Carrying a minimum 2.5 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.
