Diagnosis: Median Raphe Cyst

Discussion: Median Raphe Cysts typically do not regress spontaneously. They have the potential to become symptomatic later in life. Common pediatric urologic thinking/approach is to excise them and repair with a simple closure. This treatment is a common practice. The patients tolerate the procedure well, and the area heals nicely with very low morbidity. There have been reports of the associated (rare) lymphatic malformations, and the physician should also check for a normal and patent anus as well.
