HISTORY: A 58 year-old white male with a history of colon cancer diagnosed in 1999 was treated with resection and chemotherapy. Three months after surgery, he began to notice the growth of abnormal facial hair. This hair growth progressively worsened, and he presented to the VA Dermatology Clinic in March, 2004. At the time of presentation, there was no evidence of recurrence of the primary malignancy; however, the patient was being followed for a 1.5 year history of hoarseness and unexplained mediastinal lymphadenopathy.
PHYSICAL EXAM: Excess growth of fine, lightly pigmented hairs on cheeks, eyelids, nose, and ears.
